Once the means of production has been selected, BCM automatically manages the production process and takes care of logistics right through to delivery.

This makes it particularly effective for on-demand production and continuous replenishment.

What is meant by "production as close as possible to the need or place of use" in the context of Cloud Manufacturing ?

At Cloud Manufacturing, being "as close as possible to the need or place of use" means that our BCM solution autonomously locates the production system best placed geographically in relation to the planned delivery location, while complying with your precise technical specifications.

BCM optimizes manufacturing and delivery processes for maximum efficiency.

How long does it take to manufacture a part with BCM ?

If you're launching a brand-new project at BCM, production of your part could take approximately two weeks.

However, for a part that has already been produced using our system, the lead time is generally reduced to around three days.

Who are the suppliers of BCM and can we trust them?

Our suppliers go through a rigorous qualification process before their production capabilities are listed on BCM. We have confidentiality agreements in place with all our suppliers, and audits can be carried out on a regular basis.

In the event of non-compliance or problems, Beelse reserves the right to temporarily or permanently remove the supplier from our BCM system.

What's more, BCM offers features that enable you to automatically mark your parts with a serial number for optimum traceability. This serial number is also linked to the supplier, enabling clear and precise identification of the production source.

How does BCM guarantee the quality of the parts it produces?

To guarantee the quality of the parts we manufacture, BCM integrates a complete and rigorous quality process that spans the entire project industrialization cycle. This begins with an essential homologation phase for each new project.

Homologation creates what we call the part's "DNA", which includes all the functional specifications and production information needed to ensure consistent, repeatable production over time.

When you place a production order, this precise, detailed information is transmitted to initiate the production process, guaranteeing the quality and conformity of every part produced with BCM.

How does the manufacturing process work at BCM ?

The manufacturing process with BCM is divided into three main stages, similar to those of a traditional industrial process.

These stages are prototyping, pre-production and mass production.

The advantage of BCM is that these three steps are integrated into a single production tool, making each project not only faster, but also more economical.

Thanks to this integration, you can achieve a smooth, efficient manufacturing process for your projects.

What is the reparability index?

The reparability index is an indicator designed to reflect the ease with which an object can be repaired. Evaluated on a scale of 10 according to specific criteria, it has applied to certain electrical and electronic equipment since January 2021.

The aim of this index is to combat programmed obsolescence and promote a circular economy, i.e. the sustainable production of goods and services.

From January 2022, controls will be stepped up. The Direction Générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes (DGCCRF) will monitor compliance with this new obligation. Retailers who fail to meet these obligations may be fined. In addition, the DGCCRF will monitor the reliability of the ratings awarded, and may initiate proceedings if they are found to be misleading.

In addition, new decrees were published in the Journal Officiel on January 1, laying down new rules for spare parts. The law now requires a minimum availability of five years from the date the very first unit was put on the market.

The text also stipulates that a repairer can offer parts from the circular economy to replace new parts for eligible appliances.

What is TCO (Total Cost Ownership)?

TCO, or Total Cost of Ownership, is a financial approach designed to help companies and individuals understand the direct and indirect costs associated with owning a good or service.

This is not just the initial purchase price, but also the costs associated with the purchase, use, maintenance and final disposal of the product or service over its entire lifetime. This can include items such as installation costs, training costs, repair and maintenance costs, energy costs, and even replacement costs.

The concept of TCO was introduced by consulting firm Gartner in 1998, and has since become an essential tool for companies seeking to make more informed purchasing decisions. By understanding TCO, you can make smarter purchasing decisions that take into account all the costs associated with owning a good or service.

What is additive manufacturing?

Additive manufacturing, often known as 3D printing, is a set of technologies that create three-dimensional objects by adding material layer by layer. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, such as machining, which remove material to form an object, additive manufacturing adds material to create an object.

These technologies typically use 3D digital files to guide the addition of material layer by layer, enabling the creation of complex objects with high precision and flexibility. The materials used in additive manufacturing can vary, from plastics and resins to metals and even ceramics.

Additive manufacturing offers many advantages over traditional manufacturing methods. For example, it enables the production of parts with complex shapes or internal structures that would be impossible or costly to achieve using other methods. In addition, additive manufacturing can reduce material wastage and speed up the product development process.

How does cloud manufacturing provide a response to a company's economic challenges?

cloud manufacturing is not just a new trend, it's a revolution that's injecting agility and flexibility into the business world. Imagine being able to reduce your storage and related costs, while improving your production response time and keeping your customers satisfied. That's exactly what cloud manufacturing enables.

And that's not all: your spare parts production times are also reduced. You can now produce a single part or a small series, anywhere on the planet. How is this possible? Thanks to the innovation of industrial 3D printing and high-performance software that guarantees consistent quality and availability of your spare parts throughout their life cycle.

Basically, cloud manufacturing gives you a competitive edge by helping you to adapt quickly to market changes, reduce costs, and guarantee customer satisfaction. It's like having your own tailor-made factory, available 24/7 and anywhere in the world. It's a real boon for your business.

How does cloud manufacturing address environmental issues?

cloud manufacturing, or cloud computing, is like a superhero for our planet. In what way? Well, it's helping us to be greener and cleaner in the way we produce.

Firstly, cloud manufacturing enables us to digitally store parts and produce them only when they are needed. Gone are the days of huge stocks of spare parts gathering dust and mountains of production waste. We only produce what we use, and that's good for the environment.

Then, with cloud manufacturing, we manufacture close to where we need them. That means fewer trucks, trains or planes to transport our parts around the world. Less transport means less CO2 in the air and a smaller impact on the climate.

And as an added bonus, 3D printing is often used at cloud manufacturing, which means just the right amount of material can be used to manufacture a part. Result: less wasted materials.

So, to sum up, cloud manufacturing is our ally for more planet-friendly production, in line with a sustainable, circular economy.

How does cloud manufacturing address social issues?

cloud manufacturing, or cloud computing, is not only a response to environmental and economic problems, it also plays a major role in resolving social issues. How can it help?

Firstly, cloud manufacturing encourages the relocation of production. In other words, spare parts are manufactured not thousands of kilometers away, but locally, as close as possible to where they will be used. Not only does this support local economies and create jobs, it also reduces transport and therefore greenhouse gas emissions.

What's more, cloud manufacturing makes repairs more accessible. By enabling on-demand, local production, we facilitate access to spare parts. This encourages product repair rather than replacement, which is not only better for the environment, but also extends product life and saves consumer resources.

In short, cloud manufacturing helps weave stronger links between production and consumption, while supporting local economies and promoting product sustainability.

How does cloud manufacturing reduce spare parts delivery times?

cloud manufacturing is a real game-changer when it comes to speeding up the production and delivery of spare parts. Thanks to its innovative technology, the time between order and delivery of your polymer parts is reduced to just 10 days. For metal parts, this timeframe is a maximum of 30 days. This means you can start manufacturing your parts as soon as you place your order. That's the promise of cloud manufacturing : ultra-fast, on-demand production.

Compare this with traditional methods, which are not based on cloud manufacturing. Without stock, you'd have to wait 3 to 6 months to receive your spare parts. With cloud manufacturing, it's like going from stagecoach to private jet. Your company gains in responsiveness and efficiency, and can respond to customer requests much more quickly. It's a real asset for optimizing your supply chain.
